Engineering Design Optimization
The course covers fundamentals of computational optimization methods in the context of engineering design. It develops skills to formally state and model engineering design tasks as optimization problems and select appropriate methods to solve them.
Grand Challenges in Engineering Design
The course has three main blocks, each block addresses a specific grand challenge in engineering design. Each block consists of an introductory lecture and two to three invited talks given by speakers from academia and industry. Each talk is introduced and moderated by the students.
Engineering Design Methods
This course introduces students to fundamental topics in engineering design for research and practice covering the main methods, models, theory and methodology. The course will be taught using a number of case studies motivated by grand challenges in engineering design.
