CDfAM Summer School 2023

On Sept 1 2023, the 3rd edition of our summer school on Computational Design for Additive Manufacturing came to an end. The summer school was organized at TU Delft | Industrial Design Engineering, and there the students explored how computational design, empowered by additive manufacturing technologies, is revolutionizing the design landscape. The curriculum included design workshops, and a design challenge with many 3dprinting iterations to cover the topics of cellular structures, metamaterials, multi-material additive manufacturing, topology optimization, and personalization.

Special thanks to our invited speakers, Ian Gibson, Amir A Zadpoor, Toon Huysmans, Mariana Popescu, Henriette Bier, Kunal Masania, who provided invaluable insights and future visions in this exciting field. And we also thank nTop, for the training lecture, as well as CEAD Group and SAMXL, for the exciting and insightful excursions.

We extend our gratitude to the IDEA League for their generous support making this program possible.

Thanks to the co-organizers Zjenja Doubrovski (TU Delft), Jun Wu (TU Delft), Serena Graziosi (Politecnico di Milano), Tino Stanković (ETH Zurich), and Nicholas Meisel (Penn State).

If you are interested in diving deeper, we have published an educational paper detailing previous two editions of this summer school https://doi.org/10.16906/lt-eth.v4i1.220.
